Children’s picture book is a huge area of growth for self-publishers. It’s like everybody’s got a grandmother that told a story or a great grandmother and the story’s been passed down and, you know, a combination of that story, plus an illustration, all of a sudden you have an illustrated book. The problem with children’s…illustrated children’s book is it’s much more expensive to get involved, to start with, OK? That they’ll…because they’re colored. I mean they’re not black and white, OK? They’re generally hardcover. They’re not, you know, paperback because you have to compete out where you compete but I’ve had some very, very successful authors who are, you know, children’s book publishers including my daughter, OK, who is the original Oliver the Clownfish and she happens to be a second-grade reading specialist. So a lot of, you know, her books (1:00) happen to work within her profession. So she’s not only just selling children’s books to the general public but she’s selling within her specialty or area of expertise. Again, I would start small. You can, you know…the illustrations, I’m going to have actually a couple of these other clips that you’ll see further on. My business partner, Dana is going to tell you about…more about the parts of the children’s book, you know, and how it’s put together but it can be very, very rewarding. I mean we’ve done some absolutely gorgeous children’s books and on the digital end, this is something that…it still doesn’t quite work digitally because of the price but every day, the digital presses get faster and cheaper. So by the time you look at this video in 2015, 2016, you’ll probably be able to print a small print-on-demand color just like you do with the small print-on-demand black and white right now. (2:00)
