Five, six years ago, I probably would’ve told you, you know, that trying to do it yourself in the layout department is like, you know, an absolute waste of time. Don’t do it. What’s happened is the program, primarily Microsoft Word, you know, has evolved a little bit. I find more and more and more of the do-it-yourselfers coming in and actually doing a pretty good job, OK, and again, remember, I mean professional layout’s only about $500.00 but to save the $500.00, OK, you can take your Word document, you go to, again, my website, the selfpublishing.com, download a template of what size you want, the 5 x 8, 6 x 9, 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and you go from there. You dump it, the Word document into the template and you start from there and if you’re happy with what you’ve got, OK…and I did wanted to test it one time where it took me not long at all. I took a bunch of my articles, I put them into a book called “The Book Ask Ron” (1:00) and it turned out fine and, you know, designers, you know, later looked at me and told me about…you know, nitpicked a little bit but for the most part, it wasn’t bad. So if you want to try it, try it, OK? The PDF, converting to PDF’s not a big deal. Pdf995 is free. Just make sure you embed your fonts, OK? And that you have your…any pictures you got in there grayscale.
