How do you get these ISBNs? Where do they come from? OK, the ISBN, there’s an agency for every country that’s assigned the task of assigning ISBNs to publishers. In the US, that agency is R. R. Bowker, OK? They’re in New Jersey and they’re the only ones that can legitimately sell you a set of ISBNs and they come in groups of 10, 100, 1,000, 10,000. A couple of years ago, they came up with the idea of resellers for single ISBNs, OK, which is actually kind of neat. I happen to be one of them, OK, SelfPublishing.com where you can go in and purchase a single ISBN. They run about $125.00, OK? So the problem, if you see one out there…like I said before, you can’t be, you know, given a sign or anything. If you see an ISBN out there for under $100.00, you see one for $49.00, (1:00) $55.00, whatever, they aren’t yours. Somebody else is the publisher, right? You’re just using their ISBN, OK? There’s trouble associated with that.
